The Curious Case of ....Tonya Prada
I just recently discovered that Legendary FQ FACE diva TONYA PRADA (the one that most recently walked POCC 2007) is from ...CHICAGO!!!.... Tonya made the song "Women Beat Their Men" famous and she turned the balls out in NYC in the 1990's. ...
... I'm curious as to why it was never acknowledged that she was one of Chicago's finest???... You hear the Icon Andre Miza say Chicago has only one legend (Milan) BUT you also NEVER hear the Midwest Icons and Legends acknowledge Tonya as one of their own?
Is this because Tonya mostly walked in New York? Does she not participate in Chicago?
TONYA IS FAB AND WHEN THEY TALK ABOUT MIDWEST LEGENDS...WELL HELL SHE IS ONE OF THEM... A TRUE LEGEND...

Re: The Curious Case of ....Tonya Prada
Tonya Prada participated in Chicago's early 90's vogue/house ball days (she has a cameo in the documentary "Having a Ball With the House of Avant-Garde" (1992) along with Amelia Black and Kareen Alexander). During her "physical transition period", she was possibly more active in New York's ball scene, therefore more associated with ballroom in New York. She did participate in Chicago's scene, but not as much. She is one of our legends, but New York just wants to claim her as their own. LOL
