Just saw the movie and it is a ... MUST SEE!... It was a little emotional for me because I remember those times (as a fan mind you) like it was yesterday ... This DVD will be a must-have for your personal collection.
Overall the film was cute/safe and rather shallow in terms of story line...yet the guy who played Biggie (jamal woodward) as well as Angela Basset gave great performances....but I can also see why Kim complained and the role of Puffy, Faith are in the same boat...
BUT I loved the fact that Biggie's real son played him when he was younger...and I'd like to see this film redone with him actually playing his father...
where was mary?????

... BUT:Yeah I didn't think it was that great. It seemed more like a made-for-TV special. There was very little character development and story line downplayed Biggie's life or was very selective. The only actors I liked were Jamal Woodard, Angela Bassett and that child that played D-Roc... I expected a lot more from Derek Luke (the Puffy child) though ... I just hope it's done over by a SPIKE LEE (a la Malcolm X)...
